HISTORY

Hannes & Hester Venter moved to Tzaneen during 1989. Hungry and anxious
to improve their family's future they started Aqua Superette, a long overdue
dream and desire, with the help of a good friend. Their two children, Rachèlle
and Hannes (jnr), only 9 and 7 years old then, assisted Hester at the café and
bakery during peak-hours while Hannes were selling maize meal. As an agent for
Tongaat Milling, Kalell Grain Merchants and Progress Mills he had to travel long
distances daily to promote maize meal sales. The service and quality offered to
Customers made the business become to big to handle and it was decided to start
a new wholesale division to distribute maize products from.
VenbecK was registered as a closed corporation and started its
operation from a small corrugated iron shed opposite the caravan park in the
beginning of 1992. The office remained at Aqua Superette.
More
and more trucks were bought and VenbecK soon became known for the good
quality products which they sell. They moved to bigger premises at the new
industrial area. The ever-increasing workload caused them to sell Aqua
Superette and Hester also joined full-time. The product range was broadened and
again the premises became too small.
An application was launched to commercialize the family's smallholding at
Lushof and a new building of 2500 square meters was erected to accommodate VenbecK.
Various agencies were acquired and due to the superb quality products and
services rendered VenbecK had become a force to be reckoned with.
The acquisition of RSA wholesalers at the end of June 2000 boosts sales even
more and today VenbecK is the main supplier to hundreds of satisfied
shopkeepers and traders.
